How to see Dexcom G7 and G6 readings on your iPhone Lock Screen and Dynamic Island

Yes. Sweet Dreams shows your Dexcom readings on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island as a Live Activity, refreshed every few minutes, far more often than widgets. You connect with your normal Dexcom account (not Dexcom Follow).

Works with: Dexcom G7, Dexcom G6, Dexcom ONE+
Sign in with: your normal Dexcom account (not Dexcom Follow)
Updates: A new reading every 5 minutes, when Dexcom uploads it.
Not supported: Dexcom ONE (the original); Stelo

Step 1: Connect Dexcom to Sweet Dreams

Already have a follower in Dexcom Follow? Skip to the last step.

Open the Dexcom app and tap the Share icon to turn on Dexcom Share.
Invite at least one follower. Your own email address works. Dexcom doesn't send readings to its servers unless someone follows you, so this step is required even if you only want to see your own data.
In the follower settings, make sure the follower can see your trend graph.
Accept the invitation in the Dexcom Follow app. Download it first if you don't have it.
In Sweet Dreams, choose Dexcom and sign in with the wearer's Dexcom account, not the Dexcom Follow account.

Step 2: Set up Live Activity

Open Sweet Dreams and tap Live Activity on the Home tab.
To change the look, go to Settings → Live Activity & Dynamic Island and pick a style.
Optional: choose what shows in the Dynamic Island from the same screen.

Good to know for Dexcom

Pick from graph styles (Dynamic Axis, Fixed Axis, Emphasised Reading), simple styles (Large, Compact), seasonal themes (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) and festive themes (Ramadan, Halloween).
The same Live Activity appears in StandBy when your iPhone is charging on its side, in the Smart Stack on Apple Watch (watchOS 11 or later) and, on iOS 26 or later, on CarPlay when you start driving.
By default the Live Activity refreshes every 5 minutes. With FreeStyle Libre or Medtrum you can tap Request frequent refreshes for a refresh every minute (every 2 minutes for Medtrum).

Why not just use a widget?

Widgets and watch complications are refreshed on a budget Apple sets, which we've seen work out to every 15–20 minutes, in every app. That's why glucose widgets, including those in official CGM apps, can show an old reading. A Live Activity is refreshed every few minutes instead.
